What happened to your dollar.

Since January 1995, the U.S. dollar has lost nearly half of its purchasing power. Over those same thirty years, gold and silver didn't just hold their ground — they multiplied. Here's what $100 became in each.

The growth of $100 since 1995

Everything starts at $100 in January 1995. Gold and silver track nominal price; the dollar tracks what $100 in cash can still buy.

Gold IRA FAQs

The questions people actually ask before they open one — answered plainly, including the parts that are not in our favour.

What is a Gold IRA?

A self-directed IRA that holds physical precious metals instead of securities. It can hold certain metals that meet IRS eligibility requirements, through a qualified custodian and an approved depository, and it follows the same IRA tax and distribution rules as any other IRA.

Can I move an existing 401(k) or IRA into one?

Often, yes. Eligible retirement accounts can generally be transferred or rolled over into a self-directed IRA without triggering tax, provided it is done correctly. Whether your specific account qualifies depends on the plan and your circumstances, so a specialist walks through eligibility with you before anything is opened.

Which metals actually qualify?

Only coins and bars that meet the IRS fineness standards for retirement accounts. Plenty of collectible and numismatic coins do not qualify, no matter how they are marketed. Every product we place in an IRA meets the standard.

Can I keep the metal at home?

Not if it is inside an IRA. IRA metals are held at an insured, IRS-approved depository under a qualified custodian — home storage of IRA metal is not permitted. Metal you buy outside a retirement account is different: that can be delivered to you, and we will buy you a safe for it.

What does it cost?

Four things: the dealer spread on the metal, the custodian fee, transaction fees, and storage. Every one of them is put in writing before you sign anything. If a dealer will not show you the spread, that tells you something.

Does it pay interest or dividends?

No. Physical metals produce no income while you hold them. The entire value is the market price of the metal when you sell, less the spreads and fees above. Anyone suggesting otherwise is describing a different product.

How do I get my money out?

The metal is either sold and the proceeds distributed, or the metal itself is distributed to you. Either way, standard IRA tax and early-distribution rules apply exactly as they would with any other IRA.

What happens to my metal if the dealer goes out of business?

It is not ours to lose. IRA metal is titled to your account and held by the custodian at the depository, not on our balance sheet, and it is never lent, leased, or borrowed against. A dealer failing does not put vaulted metal that belongs to you at risk.

Important: physical precious metals are not FDIC-insured, not NCUA-insured, and not protected by SIPC. Their value can fall as well as rise, and they produce no income while held.

This is general educational information, not a recommendation. Product terms, taxes, fees, liquidity, and eligibility vary. Review official documents and consult qualified financial, tax, and legal professionals.
